Teaming Platform Terms + Conditions

Signing up to our teaming platform (the “Teaming Platform”) means you agree to comply with the Teaming Platform Terms and Conditions.

ARIA is a research agency created to fund projects across the full spectrum of R&D disciplines, approaches, and institutions. As part of this ARIA (and others commissioned or supported by ARIA) is empowered to conduct scientific research, develop and exploit scientific knowledge, and collect, share, publish and advance scientific knowledge. The Teaming Platform allows applicants  to register and find collaborators to submit joint proposals for ARIA programmes.

If you use the Teaming Platform and provide your details, you acknowledge and understand that: 

1. your details (full name, email, address, links to social media account(s) and/or website, organisation and interests) will be kept on a central list by ARIA; 

2. your name, organisation, interests and links to social media account(s) and/or website will be visible to other Teaming Platform participants (no email addresses will be visible on the Teaming Platform);

3. you can connect with other participants using the details visible to you on the Teaming Platform or you may request for ARIA to make up to 5 introductions to participants you are interested in collaborating with;

4. if any other participant makes a request to ARIA for an introduction to you (provided that person has not exceeded the limit of 5 introductions), ARIA will contact you to make this introduction to the other participant (and will disclose your email address or other contact details provided to ARIA for the purposes of that introduction); 

5. you can change your mind at any time and ask us to delete your information from the Teaming Platform by contacting us at hello@aria.org.uk with the subject line "Teaming Deletion Request"; 

6. if you contact ARIA and request that your details are deleted, ARIA will promptly remove your details from the Teaming Platform and your details will no longer be visible to other participants on the Teaming Platform (please note that it may take up to 2 working days to process your request); and 

7. deletion from the Teaming Platform will not prevent other participants who have already obtained your details from the Teaming Platform or to whom we have introduced you from contacting you and (since it takes up to 2 working days for your request to be processed) it is possible that ARIA may still introduce you to other participants who have requested such an introduction before ARIA has been able to complete this process, though ARIA will endeavour not to do so. 

Additionally, by using the Teaming Platform you agree to comply with the following conditions: 

1. where information is visible on the Teaming Platform or has been provided to you by ARIA following a request for introduction: (i) you must only use such information to contact the other participant for the sole purpose of finding potential collaborators for an ARIA programme, (ii) you must not share such information with any other person, (iii) you must not use such information for direct marketing or added to any general mailing lists without consent of the relevant individuals;

2. you must not take screenshots or otherwise record the information contained within the Teaming Platform; and

3. you must comply with applicable data protection laws, including, where required, identifying your own lawful basis for using personal data and complying with transparency obligations. 

Each participant is required to comply with the conditions set out above. Please note that ARIA will not be responsible for the failure of any third party to comply with such conditions.

If you have any concerns or complaints with how your data has been used, please notify ARIA immediately using the contact details within our privacy policy below.

How ARIA processes your data

ARIA will process your personal data (i.e. full name, email, address, links to social media account(s) and/or website, organisation and interests) to:

1. register your details within the Teaming Platform and maintain a central list of such information (such central list is only available to ARIA);

2. make available to others who have signed up to the Teaming Platform your name, organisation, links to social media account(s) and/or website and interests;

3. make an introduction if this has been requested; and

4. keep a record of any requested introductions and deletions.

Our lawful basis for processing your personal data for these purposes is to carry out the public task as set out in section 2 of the Advanced Research and Invention Agency Act 2022.

By using the Teaming Platform you acknowledge and understand that my personal data will be processed by ARIA in accordance with its Privacy Policy (available at: https://www.aria.org.uk/privacy-policy).

Your ideas and information

Please do not submit any information to us at this stage that is proprietary or confidential, or that may be subject to any import or export restriction in the UK or USA. Any information, ideas or suggestions that you provide as part of your form submission may be used by ARIA as part of its programme development without recourse to you or to your organisation. 

By using the Teaming Platform you confirm that (i) you are authorised to provide the information included in your submission to ARIA without breaching any obligation to your present or a former employer or to any other party and (ii) your use of the Teaming Platform does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
